3 European Chainsaw Certificates, the certificates of competence

Felling trees means working with heavy machinery and chainsaws. This requires the right skills and certificates of competence.

Serious chainsaw accidents. Safety must come first

Every year there are many serious accidents involving chainsaws during the... Cutting of trees. Both in Belgium and the rest of Europe and the whole world. To our regret, this also regularly results in fatalities. This applies both to forestry and to... tree care. And also at private homes during occasional use of the chainsaw.

We realize that all too well tree care Can't do without safety!

Reports of accidents by customers due to failure to respect safety rules

The many conversations with our customers have shown that many can tell a story of someone they know from their circle of friends, neighbors or family who has ever had an accident or near-accident with a chainsaw.

Accidents often occur due to the use of ladders, where the user does not protect himself against a fall while climbing pruning of felling trees.

To improve safety, as an arborist you are always well secured with ropes while climbing. You also have the necessary knowledge; that you gained during the erg specialized climbing and trapping courses and the work experience with experienced colleagues.

European certification system for chainsaw users – ECS

That is why Europe has developed a certification system for chainsaw users. This together with chainsaw experts from all over Europe. To improve safety and prevent accidents. This knowledge and the associated exams to test the knowledge and skills of the chainsaw user are included in the European Chainsaw Standards.

These ECS standards (European Chainsaw Standards) are very high. So that accidents can be prevented as much as possible. These are known very precisely and are applied every day in the field by b-Tree and our team.
